Wedding FAQs
Find answers to common questions about dress code, kids, transportation, and more for your special day.
What time should I arrive on Friday?
Friday is a more casual gathering from 4p to 9:30p. Please join us if you can. Don't forget to RSVP so we can plan dinner accordingly.
What time should I arrive on Saturday?
We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before the Baraat begins to allow time for the pre-ceremony festivities. Immediately following the Baraat, you will be guided towards the seating for the ceremony. Please review the Itinerary Page for more information about the festivities.
What should I expect between the ceremony and reception?
There will be a ~3 hour break between the ceremony and reception where guests can enjoy a light lunch. Generally, this time is meant for guests to rest and transition into their evening reception look. Otherwise, there will be a designated area for guests to unwind and chat before the start of the cocktail hour and reception. Please review the Itinerary Page for more information about the festivities.
What should I wear to the wedding?
You are welcome to wear any elegant wedding attire you would like and/or also welcome to embrace the Indian fusion culture by wearing traditional Indian attire, such as sarees, lehengas, or anarkalis for women or sherwanis for men. However, the most important thing is for you to wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and beautiful!
Check out this Outfit Blog for examples of Indian Attire!
Is there a dress code for Friday's Welcome Celebration?
Friday’s event is casual but dress to impress! Whether you prefer a stylish casual look or a little festive flair, feel free to dress in a way that makes you feel great for an evening of games, speeches, and mehendi.
How should I dress for the Saturday Ceremony?
In Indian weddings, there is traditionally a difference between ceremony and evening attire. For the morning Fusion Ceremony, you can wear Indian attire including sarees or lehengas, or your "Sunday Best". Men can opt for kurta pajamas, sherwanis, or a dressy outfit they feel comfortable in.
What about the Saturday Evening Reception?
Saturday evening is all about bringing your best wedding attire! Whether that’s a classic formal gown, Indian attire, a suit, or your best wedding outfit, the goal is to dress your best and celebrate in style. If you’d love to participate in the cultural fusion, Indian evening wear is always welcome.
Ultimately, what’s most important?
That you feel comfortable, confident, and happy in whatever you choose to wear! Whether you go traditional or stick to formal wedding attire, we’re just excited to celebrate with you.
Are kids welcome at the wedding?
Yes! We love having families celebrate with us, and children are welcome at all events. If you’re bringing little ones, please keep in mind that some portions of the wedding will be lively and energetic, so feel free to plan accordingly for their comfort!
Can I bring a plus-one?
We’d love for you to share this celebration with someone special! That said, our venue has a limited capacity, so we’re working hard to keep our guest list as thoughtful as possible. If you’re hoping to bring a guest who wasn’t included on our invitation, feel free to reach out—we’d love to chat and see what’s possible.
Do you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies?
We want to make sure everyone enjoys the celebration comfortably! Our wedding meals will primarily feature Mexican and Indian cuisine, so if you have any dietary needs or restrictions, please feel free to reach out to us directly. We’ll do our best to accommodate and ensure a delicious experience for all!
Will there be alcohol?
Yes! Enjoy responsibly and please plan for a safe ride home if needed. If you’re attending with children, please make arrangements as needed to ensure everyone has a fun and comfortable experience.
Where should I stay? Are there Hotel blocks?
Yes! We have secured room blocks at Best Western Plus College Station Inn & Suites with a special rate. Please book by October 7, 2025, to get the special rate. Given that all the wedding festivities will be at the Peach Creek Ranch, we recommend finding lodging in the Bryan/College Station area to minimize travel and maximize our time with you! Please see additional details on the Travel and Lodging page.
Will there be transportation provided?
While transportation will not be directly provided, there are convenient options available. Uber and Lyft operate in Bryan/College Station, making it easy for guests to arrange rides as needed. The Best Western Plus College Station Inn & Suites does not offer a shuttle service. Ground Shuttle offers daily shuttles between College Station and George Bush Airport for $55 per person. Please see more details on the Travel and Lodging page.
What will the weather be like?
Early November in College Station typically brings mild and comfortable fall weather, perfect for wedding celebrations. Expect highs around 74°F (23°C) and lows near 52°F (11°C), with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies and a slight chance of rain. Evening temperatures may dip, so light layers are recommended,
We’ll keep an eye on the forecast as the wedding approaches, but overall, it should be a beautiful weekend to celebrate
Are there any cultural traditions I should be aware of?
Yes! Our wedding is a beautiful fusion of our cultures, blending Hindu Telugu, Mexican, and Guatemalan traditions with a modern celebration.
Harish comes from a Telugu Indian background and proudly calls Chicago his hometown. Wendy is Mexican-Guatemalan, originally from California, but now calls Houston home.
Throughout the wedding, guests will experience meaningful traditions and cultural fusion with Mexican, Guatemalan, and Indian influences, reflected in the ceremony, music, and cuisine.
We’re excited to share these traditions with our loved ones and make this a truly unforgettable celebration!
